TRENAK11 provides training in practical techniques and cultural considerations of English Public Speaking as a prerequisite course for TRENS8 Advanced Interpreting and for other professional tasks which require a foundation in public speaking. AK11 is an "intermediate-level" course for which the completion of Basic Studies is required. The course is intended for second-year (or higher) native-Finnish-speaking English Translation major students.

AK11 is worth two ECTS credits. Evaluation via a number grade is based on an averaging of performance exams on oral intepretations, short speeches of introduction and thanks, microphone and other presentation-tool usage, and the delivery of two short speeches, as well as class participation. AK11 meets in the spring term with a recommended class size of six students per group. Students should subscribe to the AK11- L class e-mail list.
