FAST-US-4 (TRENAK16) United States Government and Political
System is an intermediate course in the FAST and English Translation
curricula.
US-4 examines the basic structure of American government and politics,
primarily at the Federal level, but with attention also to State and Local
institutions and procedures. The focus is on the language and substance
of the U.S. political process, including differences between terminology
and procedure in the United States and Finland.
US-4 is normally offered in the fall term of presidential election
years and otherwise as possible. Registered FAST students may obtain US-4
credit at other times via an Independent Project. Students should
