The Master's Degree Programme in Business Competence offers the student an opportunity to become comprehensively acquainted with the various special issues of business competence. In addition, by familiarizing himself/herself extensively with the different sectors of business competence and its methodology the student gains eligibility for postgraduate studies in the field. This Master's Programme aims at enhancing both business know-how in general and especially expertise in the mastery of entireties.
The main goals of the Master's Programme are:
The Programme comprises teaching modules which include both intensive teaching packages offered by the visiting professors and teaching of a longer duration provided by teachers from the University of Tampere. The Programme is taught in English, and includes lectures, seminars, exams, essays, keeping learning diaries, and working in pairs and teams. Because a significant amount of the Programme´s teaching is offered as intensive courses by the visiting professors, the Master's Programme cannot be completed as part-time studies; students are expected to commit themselves to fulltime studies.
The personal study plan (HOPS), which is compiled at the beginning of the studies, specifies individually the content of each student's degree, including compulsory and optional studies.
The number of credits and composition of the studies (in addition to modules defined as compulsory for all students) depends on the student's earlier studies and especially the student's own goals to his/her degree. Thus the credit requirement of the degree may in the case of some students moderately exceed 120 ECTS credits because of additional studies required.
