How to extend my exchange period at UTA?

If you are currently an international exchange or a visiting student at the University of Tampere (UTA) and you wish to extend your exchange period, please follow the instructions below. The required enclosures should be written in English, Finnish or Swedish.

Instructions for students extending the exchange period for a new semester during the same academic year

If you are an exchange student, who has registered for the autumn semester only and wish to extend your study period for the spring semester, please inform your host school by e-mail about your plans by 31 October. You do not need to fill in the application form. In addition to sending an e-mail, you should submit the following documents to your host school:

• ECTS Learning Agreement for the extension period
• a document (s) stating that
  - you are a degree student at your home university during your exchange period
  - your Faculty, Department or other appropriate officers of your university (e.g. those responsible for the selection of exchange students) allow you to extend your exchange period at UTA

Instructions for students extending the exchange period for a new academic year

If you plan to extend your exchange period for the autumn semester, which is a part of a new academic year, please fill in the Application Form and submit the following documents to your host school by 15 May. Please also check from your school if other enclosures are required.

• ECTS Learning Agreement for the extension period
• a document (s) stating that
  - you are a degree student at your home university during your exchange period
  - your Faculty, Department or other appropriate officers of your university (e.g. those responsible for the selection of exchange students) allow you to extend your exchange period at UTA
