Under the terms of the national JOO Agreement, a person who is a registered degree student at one of Finnish Universities is entitled to apply for minor subject studies at any other Finnish University . The studies should be of a nature which the student would not be able to undertake in his/her home institution and which can be included in the student's degree programme. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students come within the terms of the agreement. The student will not be required to pay any fees if the right to study is granted under the terms of the JOO Agreement.
The University may grant a student the status of a visiting JOO student only if the student's home university supports the application. So before applying, the student must obtain a statement of approval by the home university.
Application deadlines
Different universities have different application procedures and dates. Before sending in your application, please read carefully the instructions and schedules for flexible study (JOO) applications by contacting the study counsellor at your home university and at the target university. Please remember to allow sufficient time for the application process.
For application forms and application deadlines, please see the JOOPAS website.
If you are a degree student at the University of Tampere and you are interested in JOO studies at another Finnish University, you should contact the Head of Student Affairs in your home faculty for the statement of approval.
