Finnish Language

Adapting to Finnish society and everyday life will be much easier and more fun if you are prepared to learn some Finnish. The University of Tampere offers several options for studying Finnish from a short survival course to an extensive elementary course followed by more demanding courses according to your personal wishes and motivation.

• Finnish Language Courses for International Students organised by the University Language Centre (open to all degree and exchange/visiting students of the University of Tampere)
• Finnish Language & Culture by the School of Modern Languages (Finnish language and its usage in every day and professional situations and written texts. In addition, the programme includes studies of Finnish culture and society, according to the choice of students. Level B2 in Finnish is required)

• UUNO is a website for introducing Finnish language and culture for exchange students and other foreigners. Uuno is elementary-level Finnish language educational material, presenting different situations related to Finnish everyday life and culture.
