
There is complete freedom of worship in Finland. About 90 % of the Finns belong to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, another 1.3 % to the Orthodox Church of Finland. Several churches in Tampere offer religious services in different languages, including English, German and Swedish.

The Lutheran Parishes in Tampere maintain a chapel “Taivaankannen kappeli” at the university in the Pinni B Building (address Kanslerinrinne 1), which serves both the University students and staff. Student work tends to be ecumenically oriented and open minded.
