
Tampere provides a multitude of shopping opportunities ranging from small boutiques to large department stores and shopping centres. Check the newspapers for daily special offers. The words ale, tarjous, erikoishinta, rea, indicate sale, special offer, etc.
Except for kiosks and small food shops and in the summer some department stores, shops are closed on Sundays except before such major holidays as Christmas.
The currency used in Finland is the Euro (EUR) and it is divided into 100 cents. The most common credit cards and Visa Electron card are widely accepted.

9.00/10.00–16.00/18.00.
Beer and cider containing up to 4.7 % alcohol by volume are available at supermarkets and food stores. Wine, beer and spirits containing more than 4.7 % alcohol by volume can be bought only at state-owned Alko shops. The minimum age is 20 years for buying spirits containing more than 21 % alcohol, otherwise it is 18 years. You may be asked for identification.

Hervanta District Market: only Tues and Fri 8.00–16.00
In addition to the above-mentioned market places, Keskustori Market (Central Square) is held on the first Monday of each month 6.00–18.00.
