MDP in Russian and European Studies
My name is Yuliya Trubachyova, and I am originally from Kazakhstan. I am ethnic Russian myself, which naturally made me particularly interested in MDP in Russian and European Studies at UTA. In 2017, the programme will be renewed and will be available as one of the directions of the MDP in Leadership for Change.
In my home country I studied international relations as my major for 5 years. In 2013 I graduated from the Department of World History and International Relations at Karaganda State University, where I received a BA in Humanities. I also hold an MA in International Relations from the Eurasian National University in Astana.
My dialogue with Finland started more than six years ago due to a fairytale that has changed my personal life. After my first trip to this peaceful country, I immediately fell in love with the Finnish uniqueness and breathtaking nature. Only later on I decided to write my Bachelor’s thesis on the role of the Nordic Countries in the EU. Step by step I came to the point where I am now.
I am grateful to UTA for the opportunity to receive a high quality education, a creative approach to research, and an unforgettable experience in intercultural communication. It is important to highlight the warm and friendly atmosphere that I have experienced whilst studying in the MDP in Russian and European Studies. Seminars, group work, study trips, organization of the events on the International relations matters – isn’t it exciting?
UTA is a place where students are appreciated and treated as equal in terms of communication with professors and the administration team. Tampere is definitely the right choice for student life because you will never get bored here. Clubs, museums, cozy cafes, hockey games; there are plenty of options how to spend your leisure time.
Every day here away from my sweet home I become freer and stronger because Finland has given me a chance to find inner peace. Kiitos, Suomi!
