Doctoral student, School of Management
Hi, I am Gaoming Zheng. I am currently a doctoral candidate and researcher at the University of Tampere, working on my doctoral research about the quality assurance of doctoral education collaboration between Europe and China.
I am originally from Guangdong, China. I did my bachelor degree in Southeast University, in Nanjing, and continued to work in the same university as a coordinator of student affairs in my school for one year afterwards. During my bachelor study, I was also an exchange student in Yuanze University in Taiwan in 2012. In 2014, I joined in the Erasmus Mundus master’s degree programme, Master of Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE Programme), which is coordinated by Danube University Krems in Austria, University of Tampere in Finland, Beijing Normal University in China and Osnabruck University of Applied Science in Germany. I stayed and studied in the four countries during my master study. After completing my Master’s degree, I began my doctoral study at the University of Tampere. So sometimes, when people ask me, ‘where are you from’, I often say, ‘Originally I am from China, but I am also from a diverse cultural growth path’. J
As mentioned, I came to UTA during my master study because of the MARIHE programme. In fact, since the first time I came to UTA in 2013 for the second semester of the MARIHE programme, I found myself in love with UTA, and decided to come back. Hence, I chose it for the final MARIHE semester, and came back and graduated from UTA. And afterwards, I continued my doctoral study here, without any hesitation. I chose to spend most of my European days here because I enjoy the peaceful life here, because I love the sincere people here, because I appreciate the quality education and serious research here. And as people often say, sharing is one of the best parts of living, I would like to share my experiences of UTA with more people and let more people to know about it.
I am a positive, easy-going and open-minded person. I like simple and focused life, but I also enjoy meeting different people, making friends with them, and getting to know the diverse world where we live in!
