KATIA S. AMORIM (Brazilian Research Centre on Human Development and Early Child Education - CINDEDI, University of São Paulo, Brazil) is a Child Psychiatrist and works as professor of Developmental Psychology, at a Psychology and Education Department, at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. She is working on cultural and developmental psychology, and is primarily interested on the embodiment of social-economical and cultural aspects, which help to constrain human development. Mainly, such studies are carried out through analysis of either infants or young children with or without disabilities or disruptive development. Within this work, basically while looking at infant's language and communication, she carries out studies which seek to apprehend infant's signification processes. Together with Professor Clotilde Rossetti-Ferreira and the research group (CINDEDI), she is elaborating a theoretical-methodological perspective on human developmental processes (Network of Meanings).
