Latest research news of speech technique and vocology from the speech and voice research laboratory in the school of education, University of Tampere
A seminar for students of Speech Technique and Vocology and for all who are interested in the topic.
Seminar language is English. No Registration fee. Coffee will be included.

12.00 - 12.30 Anne-Maria Laukkanen, professor of speech technique and vocology: Overview of research activities in speech technique and vocology during the ongoing year
12.30 - 12.45: Jaana Tyrmi, doctoral student: Vocal tract setting in vocal exercises [ß:], [m:] and phonation into a straw compared to vowels with the same place of articulation. An MRI case study.
12.45 - 13.00: Elinita Mäki, senior lecturer of speech technique and vocology: Occupational voice: Variations in female speaking pitches.
13.00 - 13.15: Kati Järvinen, doctoral student: Speaking a Foreign Language and its effect on fundamental frequency.
13.15 - 13.45 Coffee break in the hall outside the auditorium (’Muotokuvagalleria’)
13.45 - 14.00: Teija Waaramaa, senior researcher: Expression end perception of emotions from the voice.

14.15 - 14.30: Johanna Leskelä, doctoral student in spe. Changes in fundamental frequency, formant frequencies and Long-Term-Average Spectrum in imitation
14.30 - 14.45: Elina Kankare, junior researcher: Electroglottographic contact quotient in different phonation types
14.45 - 15.00: Irma Ilomäki, senior lecturer of speech technique and vocology: Vocal capabilities and limitations in female primary school and kindergarten teachers.
