Finland - living in and from the forests

Head of Forestry Degree Programme Ari Vanamo (Tampere University of Applied Sciences) gives a guest lecture on Finnish forests and forestry at the University of Tampere (UTA), PINNI B -building, room B1097 at 18:15-19:45.

70 % of Finland´s area is covered with forests. Forests have a major economic and social importance to the Finns.

The lecture is part of the lecture series "Finnish Society and Culture" and is organised by the Studying in Tampere Region (SITR) university network.

The lecture series is specially designed for international students and staff who wish to know more about the Finnish Society and Culture. The main purpose is to introduce the listeners to the society and culture of contemporary Finland and to give them an idea of the development and cultural, political and economic background of one of the Nordic welfare states.
