Doctoral Programme in Biomedicine and Biotechnology (Biolääketieteen ja bioteknologian tohtoriohjelma) is a graduate program administered by the Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences (MED) that focuses on multidisciplinary research training in molecular biology, biomedicine, biotechnology, bioinformatics, cell biology and systems biology. All students are affiliated with research groups associated with the faculty. At present the school has 20 graduate studentships provided by the university to support full-time thesis project research for a period of up to 4 years. Some 50 additional students have funding for a similar period from other sources. Regardless of funding, all students share the same benefits and responsibilities.
