
The new doctoral programme started in August 2012, and the transition period is two years. The old degree requirements are valid until 31.7.2014.
The School of Communication, Media and Theathre (CMT) offers instruction in the following disciplines:
Journalism and Mass Communication
Theatre Work
Speech Communication
Theatre and Drama Research.
All four disciplines study reality and construct performances of reality. Graduates work in public professions which require tangible skills, involve a societal aspect and approach communication through meaning – as pictures, words and stories.
The objective of the doctoral programme at the School of Communication, Media and Theatre is to train professionals who are qualified to work in demanding research and teaching posts in universities or in other professional positions that require a profound theoretical and methodological knowledge of the field. For instance, graduates may work in private organisations, higher education management, cultural management, arts management or scientific governance.
At CMT, postgraduate students apply for the right to study the subject they wish to major in. CMT offers the following postgraduate degrees:
