In addition to theoretical studies students are introduced to phenomena in the field, including own practice. Other aspects introduced include communication in human relations, public speaking, communication in groups, rhetoric, professional speech communication, theory and research of speech communication and teaching speech communication.
On graduating students of speech communication can find good placements in a variety of tasks, the most common being teaching and consultation functions. Graduates may also serve as experts in interaction and communication in various planning and human resource development tasks, in the IT field, in information and research work and in managerial tasks in communication.
