Instruction for the presentation

  • The time of the presentations is limited to 15 minutes, in addition a few minutes are reserved for discussions.

  • Presenters can check their presentations in the Speakers Ready Room on site.

  • Please, bring your presentation to the room of your session during preceding break.

  • All audiovisuals are to be presented in a computer generated format. Overheads and personal laptops are not permitted.

Paper preparation guidelines

Participants are most welcome to present free communications on the topics of the Congress.
See the free communication themes and the following instructions for preparing and submitting papers.

Please read these instructions carefully before you prepare your proceeding paper.

Type the abstracts at the beginning of the paper (at maximum 100 words).
Include at the end of the abstract key terms (3-6 words).

Subtitle
The proceeding paper should state the aims of the study, the approach and methods used, the results obtained and conclusions reached. Subtitles, such as Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusions(in bold) are recommended to be used when applicable. Write titles on a separate line, leaving with one blank line above.
The maximum length of the paper is four (4) pages, including figures, tables and references. Manuscript mustbe typed in English on the paper of A4 (width 21 cm, height 29.7 cm) in point size 12 and single-spaced, using the Times New Roman font. Leave margins of 2.5 cm at the top and bottom and on the both sides ofthe page.
The title of the paper should be brief, describing the nature of the paper. Use point size 14 for the title. Leave one blank line between the title and the name(s) of the author(s). Underline the name of the author presenting the paper. Type the names of the authors in bold. Leave one blank line and type e-mail address of contact person using point size of 10. Leave one (1) blank line before starting the abstract, as well as before all subtitles. Note that the abstract should be brief (at maximum 100 words) including key terms.
Number figures and tables consecutively in Arabic numerals (1,2,..) and cite them in the text, as for example, Figure 1, Table 1, etc. Figures and tables should be inserted at the appropriate point in the text.
Please, do not insert page numbers in the manuscript, as these will be added later.References should confirm to the Vancouver style (see www.icmje.org). They should be numbered consecu- tively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text and identified in the text by Arabic numerals in parentheses (1). If a publication has six or fewer authors, all the authors are listed. If there are more than six, list the first six authors and add "et al.".

Submission

Deadline for papers is 19 April 2006.

The papers should be delivered (in WORDformat) as a document attachment to an e-mail message NES2006.abstracts@uta.fi. Write on the subject line: paper NES2006/the last name of the corresponding author. For example: paper NES2006/Smith. You will be sent confirmation by e-mail when your paper has been received by the Secretariat.

Acceptance

Notice of acceptance will be sent by 31 May 2006.

Proceedings

Accepted papers will be published as Proceedings book of the Congress.
