Professor Kathryn Kerns from the Department of Psychological Sciences at Kent State University (Ohio, United States) will give a public lecture. Her talk focuses on how parent-child attachment is associated with children’s emotion regulation and mental health in middle childhood.  After reviewing the characteristics of parent-child attachment in middle childhood, Dr. Kerns will present new findings on how attachment is related to children’s emotional adjustment.  She will also discuss potential pathways from attachment to mental health.

Doctor Kerns is one of the leading researchers in the field of child school-age attachment, and has received the Bowlby-Ainsworth Contributor Award from the New York Attachment Consortium in recognition of her contributions to research on attachment in middle childhood.
