Image of police. Is there any difference of police image between representatives of media and police
The research examines the perception of police and the emergence of that perception among representatives of the media. The research includes two main questions.
The first research question is where the police image is formed? The analysis of the survey and documents shows that there is a substantial need for research into perceptions of the police. There are lots of anecdotal perceptions of the police. The police perception consists of a number of different things and the internal perceptions of the organization’s staff are in key positions as identity and values of organization. The perception among those on the inside of the organization create the internal image of the organization that reflects the image outside the organization, by creating the external image relating to police activities, services and social intercommunication through the all measures taken by police. Members of the media play a key role in covering the news of the police and the police to form images of various actors in society.
The second question looks at how the police’s own perception differs from the perception of journalists. The perception survey was made in the Eastern Police Department, asking police employees as well as journalists working in the Eastern Police Department area. This took place during spring 2015. The main image of the gap increased management of contacts and relations between the police and journalists. Respectively the images related to the reliability of the police, professionalism and kindness did not form a large image gaps.
