Researchers and research projects at the University of Tampere received about 7.7 million euros from the Academy of Finland for research in the social sciences and humanities. The Academy of Finland’s Research Council for Culture and Society made the funding decisions in its meeting on 13 June.
The Academy granted about 5.2 million euros to twelve research projects for the four-year period of 1 September 2017 – 31 August 2021 and 2.5 million euros to nine postdoctoral researchers for the three-year period of 1 September 2017 – 31 August 2020.
The Academy of Finland research projects will be led by the following researchers: Risto Heiskala, Matti Hyvärinen, Kirsi Juhila, Heikki Keskustalo, Saija Mauno, Seppo Penttilä, Raija-Leena Punamäki-Gitai, Semi Purhonen, Tarja Pösö, Arja Rosenholm, Jarmo Vakkuri and Katja Valaskivi.
The new Academy of Finland Postdoctoral Researchers will be: Riie Heikkilä, Paul Jasper Jonker-Hoffren, Toni Lahtinen, Bruno Lefort, Rebecca Lund, Katariina Mäkinen, Marjaana Rautalin, Rune Saugmann and Margot Strohminger.
