The person participating in the Erasmus staff mobility must be employed by the sending university (the University of Tampere). It is possible to make a Erasmus staff training visit to a university, an enterprise, an association or another organisation (for example, a research institute). The objectives of Erasmus staff mobility are professional development of the participating individual, learning new skills and know-how, as well as exchange of best practices between colleagues. Different forms of Erasmus staff mobility include study visits, courses, workshops, and learning on-the-job. It is also possible to participate in an International Staff Exchange Week organized by Erasmus partner universities of the University of Tampere. Erasmus Staff Mobility grants cannot be awarded for participating in scientific conferences. Funding is granted primarily for five-day visits. For more information on the Erasmus staff mobility, please see the Intranet (for staff only)
Doctoral students and researchers can apply for travel grants to visit Fudan University (in Shanghai) through the Nordic Centre. The duration of the visits is 2-4 weeks. The Nordic Centre can provide EUR 500 for the travel expenses as well as allowance to cover accommodation and living costs (EUR 350 per week). There have been also other scholarships for longer visits; for further information, please contact the Nordic Centre.
