Guest lecture by Professor Brendan Gough, Nottingham Trent University. Linna, room 5014.
Professor Brendan Gough is a critical social psychologist and qualitative researcher interested in gender issues, especially concerning men and masculinities. He has published various papers on gender identities and relations, including areas such as sexism, homophobia and intersex. He has also published papers on Economic and Social Research Council funded health-related research, such as alcohol consumption, smoking and aspects of men's health.
Brendan Gough is co-founder and co-editor of the journal Qualitative Research in Psychology. Currently, Brendan Cough is working on three main projects:
Professor Gough will be the opponent at the public defence of Ilkka Pietilä’s doctoral thesis "Between rocks and hard places. Ideological dilemmas in men’s talk about health and gender" on Friday, August 29th 2008, in the auditorium of Tampere School of Public Health at 12 o’clock.
