The lecture series "Finnish Society and Culture" organised by SITR will start on Wednesday 10 September at 18:15 with the topic "Finnish History: Finns and Finland between East and West".
The lecture series is free of charge and open for everyone. The lectures continue on Wednesdays until 10 December.
Place: University of Tampere, PINNI B -building, B1096. (Street address: Kanslerinrinne 1, Tampere.)
The lectures are specially designed for international students and staff who wish to know more about the Finnish society and culture. The main purpose is to provide an introduction to the society and culture of contemporary Finland and to give an idea of the development and cultural, political and economic background of one of the Nordic welfare states.
Lectures are given by experts in the fields of e.g. Finnish History, Welfare State, Foreign Policy, Mass Media, Information Society, Technology, Innovations, Literature, Culture, Music, Art, Design, Environmental issues, Forestry, Business, and business branches especially in the Tampere Region.
