Guest lecture by Dr Katalin Miklóssy, Research Fellow at the Aleksanteri Institute, Helsinki – Finnish Centre for Russian and Eastern European Studies.
Thursday, 19 March 2009, 4-6 pm at Pinni B3076.
How do the Eastern and Central European states relate to America? Are they keen on serving American interests or just taking advantage of the American card in the European game? Katalin Miklóssy will provide a historical perspective on the changes in the Eastern European attitudes towards US policy, from Presidents Nixon to Bush jr. Dr Miklóssy will argue that the countries in “the Europe between” always offer “answers in between”.
