Remember your first days in Finland? Was it nice to have a tutor to help you sorting things out? Now it's time for you to return the favour and become an international tutor for academic year 2009–2010!
As an international tutor your main task is to help coming students to get started with everyday life and studies. Tutoring will give you a chance to create new contacts with Finnish and international students and improve your language skills while mentoring.
In Tampere university, the international tutoring is done in pairs. Tamy and International office will help you by giving some guidelines, advices and training. And your own student organisation will be there to back you up!
In exchange, a tutor will receive a certificate, a tiny compensation to cover the expenses and an excellent experience of team leading. What it takes is some of your time - you need to be here in the lasts weeks of August and beginning of September.
So, if you are a degree student at UTA and know that you will continue your studies here next semester, you are exactly what we are looking for! The official deadline for recruitment is 31.03, but if you got interested, just give yourself in to international@tamy.fi or to the international officer at your own student organisation. What we need is your contact info in short, your major and a short description of your language skills.
