The degree students of the University of Tampere currently enrolled as present may apply for exchange studies in the following bilateral partner universities of the University of Tampere:

2 students for one semester or 1 for the academic year

4 students for one semester or for the academic year
MEXICO
• INSTITUTO TECHNOLÓGICO Y DE ESTUDIOS SUPERIORES DE MONTERREY, campus Ciudad Juárez
2 students for one semester or 1 for the academic year
RUSSIA
• IVANOVO STATE UNIVERSITY
2 students for one semester or 1 for the academic year
• MOSCOW STATE LINGUISTIC UNIVERSITY
2 students for one semester
• PLEKHANOV RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ECONOMICS, Moscow

UKRAINE
• TARAS SHEVCHENKO NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF KYIV

The applicants must have studied at the University of Tampere for at least one year, except those who apply to the University of Leipzig who must have studied for at least two years. Postgraduate students may apply for places at the Universities of Salzburg and Tartu.
Students cannot apply to study abroad for a period for which they do not have the right to study at the University of Tampere (N.B. Students studying at the master's degree programmes organized by the ISSS have a time limit for their studies, i.e. the right to study covers two years. The Dean of the Faculty can prolong the right to study upon application.)
Language requirements:
Austria and Germany: a good command of German
Estonia: a good command of Estonian if studying in Estonian in Tartu or a good command of English if studying in English
Mexico: a good command of Spanish and English (Ciudad Juarez)
Russia: a satisfactory command of Russian, except for the Plekhanov Academy: a good command of English and an elementary course in Russian
Taiwan: at least an elementary course in Chinese taken before the start of the exchange period (Chinese is the language of tuition in NTNU, only a limited number of courses are taught in English in some departments)
Ukraine: a satisfactory command of Russian or Ukrainian
The places are confirmed finally when the host universities accept the students.
Applicants fill in an application form, which is obtainable from 20 April onwards at the International Office A129 (Main Building). The application form is also accessible online at http://www.uta.fi/opiskelu/opiskelu_ulkomailla/index.html
Please return the application form and its enclosures (a transcript of academic records, a motivation letter, study plan and Curriculum Vitae in the host country's language of studies) to the International Office A129, by 3 pm on Monday 4 May. In addition to the enclosures mentioned above, students enrolled in Master's degree programmes (the separate two-year Master's programmes, not ‘ordinary' Master's degrees) should enclose a statement from a supervisor of her/his Master's thesis in which the supervisor supports student's application to the given host university.
Those selected to the exchange programmes receive a travel grant from the University of Tampere. However, the students who are accepted in the University of Leipzig will only receive the grant if the host university does not offer a grant.
