Interim University collegiate body named by the University Board

The Board of the University of Tampere, in accordance with the government bill currently being processed by Parliament, has duly appointed an interim University collegiate body to serve until 31 December 2009.  The Board's decisions regarding the collegiate body are conditional until the enactment of the new Universities Act, after which the University Board will officially finally confirm the decisions.

The interim University collegiate body will choose the new University governing body, i.e. determine the number of members the governing body shall have, i.e. the term of office for the governing body and its members and select the members internal and external to the University for the first governing body.

The interim University collegiate body comprises 33 members, 11 from each of the three categories, namely professors, other teaching and research personnel and then other personnel and students.  The interim collegiate body can commence preparatory measure immediately.
