New regional education programme: Pirkanmaa studies

In August 2009, Tampere Summer University organises a regional education programme called  Pirkanmaa Studies. It offers you an opportunity to:

• Learn about the international studies available at the local universities
  
  
• Get to know not only Tampere (the largest inland city in the Nordic countries) but also the beautiful surrounding countryside

The programme consists of English-language excursions to a number of towns as well as of introductory visits to universities in the Tampere Region. The region is called Pirkanmaa in Finnish. The programme is carried out in cooperation with local higher education institutions as well as with the Local Action Groups operating in the Pirkanmaa countryside.

The introductory visits to the universities are free of charge and they take place on weekdays from 2 pm to 4 pm. The excursions to local towns are scheduled on Saturdays and they cost 25€ each.
