The University of Tampere Centre for Advanced Study (UTACAS) performs advanced research focused on society, improves the conditions for doing research, and promotes multidisciplinary and international interaction. The Centre accomplishes its mission by annually awarding fixed-term fellowships for one year to a group of academics and scholars of the University of Tampere.
The Fellows on academic year 2009-2010 are Professor Heikki Paloheimo (political science), Professor Pirkko Pitkänen (education), Lecturer Sanna Talja (information studies), Docent Pekka Masonen (history), Professor Mikko Lahtinen (political science), Senior Assistant Ilkka Pietilä (public health), Senior Assistant Nina Tynkkynen (environmental politics) and Researcher Hanna-Mari Ikonen (women's studies).
Next application round will be launched in the beginning of year 2010.
