Want to know more about the Finns and Finland in English?
Join the joint course of the universities in Tampere called "Finnish Society & Culture" starting from Wednesday 27 January 2010!
The first lecture "Finnish History" will be held on 27 January at 18:15-19:45 at the University of Tampere (UTA) in Pinni B building, lecture hall B1096.
The lectures are specially designed for international university students and staff who wish to know more about the Finnish Society and Culture. The main purpose is to introduce the listeners to the society and culture of contemporary Finland and to give them an idea of the development and cultural, political and economic background of one of the Nordic welfare states.
Lectures are given by experts in the fields of e.g. Finnish History, Welfare State, Foreign Policy, Mass Media, Information Society, Technology, Innovations, Literature, Culture, Music, Art, Design, Environmental issues, Forestry, Business, and business branches especially in the Tampere Region.
The lectures continue on Wednesday evenings during the spring term.
