Biking Day is a tradition at the University of Tampere. The idea is to remind people about the benefits of biking and provide free help, advice and information about biking.
In front of the Main Building you will find
A Bicycle Doctor doing minor repairs free of charge (spare parts must be paid for)
Free maps of biking routes in Tampere region
Secondhand bikes on sale starting at 12 midday (Be in good time, bikes sell very quickly!)
Bike bath in the C-wing parking area
How to ride an electric bicycle. Come and try.
Information about the sports activities at the University
University of Tampere alumni will be selling Fair Trade tshirts and bags
Tulevaisuuskuvia exhibition by bike, starting at 2 p.m. in front of the Main Building (guidance in Finnish only)
Have you got a brilliant, ugly or just a special bicycle? Come and take part in the Most Special Bicycle competition on the University Biking Day. Send your information to varpu.jutila@uta.fi until 21st September.
All the bicycles entered in the competition will be on show on the University Biking Day from 12 to 4 p.m. and the University students and staff will vote for the most spectacular bicycle! There is a reward for the winner! There will also be a raffle among all entrants. More information from: varpu.jutila(at)uta.fi.
The Biking Day is organized together by Ekokampus, the Alumni of the University of Tampere, University sports activities and the Student Union
