Tamy's Development cooperation and environment week 22.-26. November
This year, the development cooperation and environment week organised by the Student Union of the University of Tampere concentrates ondevelopmental and environmental themes with an emphasis on economic growth.
The faith in growth that has traditionally been a part of developmental thinking is now questioned by environmental crisis. In this case, the questions is, for instance, how the prevention of environmental problems and the developing countries’ rise from poverty fit together. Does economic growth intensify social and environmental problems or is it the key to solving them?
Economic growth is discussed from many different perspectives and the week’s themes include climate funding, effects of the economic crisis on developing countries and the increasingly popular degrowth thinking.
If you don’t feel like going on a lecture, the development cooperation and environment week also offers training, art experiences, evening gatherings and excursions. Come, listen, experience and discuss!
