Light in the darkness - science curing the world is to be arranged in the Tampere Hall on 28 January.
The event is free of charge and open to all. The organizers are the University of Tampere, Tampere University of Technology, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, the Council of Tampere Region, the City of Tampere, the newspaper Aamulehti and the Tampere Hall. The event will bring to the Tampere Hall celebrated speakers, heads of major scientific institutions and scientific presentations appealing to all the senses.
In the course of the day lectures will be delivered in Finnish with the exception of that by Professor
Howard Jacobs on mitochondriosis.

The programme in the Tampere Hall on
28 January 2012 from 10.00 to 16.00 also includes a presentation by acting students of the University of Tampere, books on sale, a competition for the general public and the band
The Irrationals.
