Workshop: Facebook, research, society

With its roughly one billion users Facebook is among the most popular internet applications. It is being used for socializing, search and distribution of information, self-expression, marketing and advertising, as well as for the purposes of civic and political activism.

This workshop brings together researchers from various fields who are interested in the social, political, technological aspects and consequences of Facebook. The presentations are 15 minutes long, followed by 5 minutes discussion. The workshop languages are Finnish and English, and it is open to public.
