The Master's Degree Programme in Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE) celebrated the programme launch in Krems, Austria, on 12 September.
Vice-Rector Harri Melin from the University of Tampere also participated in the opening symposium. In the first cohort, 18 students from 13 countries started their studies. The students will arrive at the University of Tampere for the spring semester 2013.
MARIHE is a two-year Master’s Programme resulting in a joint degree. The organisers include the programme co-ordinator, the Donau Universität Krems (Austria), the Beijing Normal University (China), the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück (Germany) and the University of Tampere.
The programme has received the European Commission Erasmus Mundus Masters Course (EMMCs) status for 2012—2018. The aim of the MARIHE programme is to educate international specialists on the development and management of higher education and innovation systems.
During the course of their studies, the students in the Master’s Programme will have the opportunity to study in at least three of the universities that take part in the programme. They will also be able to develop their working skills during a period of internship at the end of their second semester.
At the University of Tampere, the Higher Education Group that operates in the School of Management is responsible for the MARIHE programme.
The application period for student admission in 2013 is now open. For more information, please visit the MARIHE website.
