The Foundations’ Professor Pool is a joint temporary grant pool of 17 foundations aimed at increasing professors’ research opportunities. Grants are awarded through the Pool to professors to finance, together with a university, a research period of 12 months. During this research leave, the university pays 55 % of the professor’s gross salary, in which case the EUR 25,000 grant awarded by the foundations covers the loss in net salary.
The Professor Pool’s next application round will be on 1 March - 28 March 2013 when 101 grants will become available. In the next round, also professors with fixed-term contracts who have worked for at least five consecutive years will be able to apply.
