Self-archiving at the University of Tampere

Research publications and self-archiving

On April 16th 2009, the Rector announced a decision on the University’s self-archiving policy, stating that the University of Tampere will begin to request self-archiving of research publications. From January 1st 2011 onwards the researchers are requested to self-archive copies of their research articles in the open institutional repository of the University.

Who does the decision concern?

The decision concerns the researchers of the University of Tampere and their articles that have been published in scientific publications.

Research articles include articles which have been published in refereed scientific journals, conference proceedings or edited books.

As a parallel copy the author can use the final version of an article (publisher version) or the post-print version which has been modified according to the received comments. It depends on the publisher’s policy which version is ultimately chosen.
