It's Going to Be a Long Night
As Saturday night blends into Sunday morning, viewers at Tullikamari's Pakkahuone will be served a 6-hour dose of sex and more sex. On film, that is.
This isn't standard grubby porn though: erotic silent films from the early years, inhibited sexual education films from the 50s and 60s, American underground movies, and clips from pin-up girl Betty Page's movie Strip-o-rama.
The man responsible for the late sex night screening is none other than the American cult-movie expert and collector Jack Stevenson, currently living in Denmark. His interest is marginal film in its many forms and he has a massive collection of these. Stevenson's screenings have tickled audiences around the globe; this is his first trip to Finland.
Not even the festival staff know exactly what Stevenson has put together for the night, although it looks like he will be playing host and lecturer.
This is the tenth all-night marathon of short films organized by the festival. Stevenson's Late Sex Night wasn't confirmed until about a week ago - originally there was going to be a screening of films by the Dutch Paul Verhoeven.
