A Day to Remember
How much noise do you think a hundred toddlers make? Wrong. The movie theatre was silent and
excitement filled the air.
Many morning commuters had had to take another look when they saw lines of children, like giant
millipedes, approaching Pakkahuone. The Tampere Film Festival offers excitement for even the
youngest viewers.
Allu arrived with his day-care group.
- I am anxious, but just a little, explained the young boy. He had known about the trip for a couple a
days and even had brought his own money with him: exactly one Euro.
After warm welcoming greetings the show was ready to begin. During the first film about good
habits the bursts of laughter were still restrained but the young audience soon warmed up.
Finland's favourite clown, Pelle Hermanni, raised the spirit even higher, and familiar songs made
the little feet beat to the rhythm. Sandman arrived at the end of the show, and dropped sand to
everyone's eyes, so the children were well prepared to return to their nurseries for a nap.
