Phil Mulloy Skips Crusades Phil Mulloy, renowned for his grotesque, ruthless visions, was easy-going and happy after the winners were announced to the press. Mulloy's motivation for making films is the opportunity to voice his thoughts, but the maker of dark and satirical animations refuses to assume the role of a moral educator. - I voice my opinions, which may clash with the thoughts that prevail in the media. It's a good thing if my films touch someone or make them think. Still, I'm not out to deliver any spesific message. Established forms of expression can be exploited to create surprises. -The audience is familiar with genres and cliches, and I take advantage of that fact. The viewers soon discover their position in the usual scheme of things, and become conscious of their role. Mulloy, who often works alone, was satisfied with his success at the festival. He was also a member of the Micromovies competition's jury.
Phil Mulloy's film the Invasion won the Grand Prix of the Tampere 32nd Shot Film Festival.
