This year animation showed its strenght in the international competition. The Grand Prix went to the Norwegian animator Pjotr Sapeg for his clay animation Through My Thick Glasses (Gjennom Mine Tykke Briller). Another awarded animation was the audiences favorite Flatlife by Jonas Geirnaert
The audience was mesmerized by Absoluuttinen Nollapiste in the Long Night of Rokk. Photo: Joel Maisalmi.
Four stages and three big screens offered the massive festival audience enough rock attitude to fill all of Tullikamari to the brim. At times the crowd went wild with the performers Moon Fog Prophet, Absoluuttinen nollapiste and Ville Leinonen just like on a real rock festival.
In order for a music video to make the song sound better, it is crucial to understand the artist's style and world. A good director can turn a bad script into a great music video. Unfortunately, the same works the other way around.

At the moment animations are popular in Finnish music videos. Picture: Tampere Film Festival.
The whole working culture in Ireland differed from the familiar Finnish system. In Ireland, the work did not start too early in the morning.
–That suited me just fine, laughs Anna Niilekselä who took part in the European film festival staff exchange programme.
The programme aims at strenghtening the competitiveness of the European audiovisual industry in the international market. The funding is distributed to training initiatives for audiovisual industry professionals, searching for more funding, project development, distribution planning, and sales promotion.
Different kinds of film festivals have one thing in common: the finances are often a high wire act. Last January, Festival News paid a visit to northern Norway, where the international Tromssa Film Festival is held.
