"Striptease" and animations
almost sold out

The advance bookings for screenings at the Film Festival have started off well. By last Sunday around 5000 tickets had been sold and reserved.

"People have bought tickets for all the screenings, none of the films will be shown to empty stalls", says Anu Ennala, the ticket salesperson in charge.

Kurt and Courtney will not have an extra screening

The screenings for the most popular films have already sold out. The 400 tickets for Nick Broomfield's Kurt and Courtney ran out in no time. There would still be more viewers for the film but a permission for an extra screening has been neglected. First screenings of computer animations and the documentaries by the Belgian group "Striptease" have sold out. There are tickets left for the re-run of the computer animations on Friday, there is also a chance to catch them on their second re-run on Sunday.

Avery replaces the Brecht documentary

There are only few tickets left for Kenneth Anger's films and Tex Avery's animations. Fortunately for the fans of Avery, the second part of the animation series will have a re-run on Saturday morning, replacing the Brecht documentary by Jutta Bruckner. Bruckner's film Bertolt Brecht, Liebe, Revolution und andere gefährliche Sachen (freely translated into "Bertolt Brecht, love, revolution and other fatal things") will not be shown at the festival at all, as the German main producer of the film didn't think the screening time given for it was favourable enough.
