Master's Degree Programme in Public and Global Health

Thank you for your interest in Global Health education at Tampere University in Finland.

Global Health and Development collaborates with the School of Health Sciences in organizing a Master’s Degree Programme which combines and integrates public and global health. Our mix of students from low, middle and high income countries provides for interesting opportunities to learn across different cultural and contextual situations. See the programme website for detailed information.

Please note: The application period for Master's Degree Programme in Public and Global Health starting in August 2017 is now closed. We thank all the applicants for the applications! Next intake will be in December 2018 - January 2019 for 2019 admission. Start date: August 2019 (to be confirmed).

Our community projects and Arctic Seminars ensure that students will be equipped with the necessary expertise, skills and tools to work in the complex setting of contemporary and emerging health challenges. Besides our own courses, we collaborate with other Schools and Units in organising courses, such as the popular multidisciplinary course: Fighting against Social Injustices  by the School of Management.

Workshops at theTampere Training Center for Skills and Simulation

We believe in innovative pedagogies and use of today’s educational technologies to provide interactive, more inclusive and engaging learning environments. As an example, we utilize the facilities of Tampere Training Center for Skills and Simulation for interactive roleplay based exercises. Read the news story on us by the University Press.

We also offer an excellent base for PhD study across many disciplines related to Global Health & Development.

Our modern Nordic campus is large enough to be exciting, yet somehow small enough to make you feel like you belong on it.

See what the international students of the University feel about studying in Tampere and the winter in Finland.
