DPPH Travel Grants

Applications may be submitted all year around to kirsi.lumme-sandt@uta.fi by e-mail. And it should be emphasized that applications can be in applicants' own words, but they must include the following information:

- Applicant's name and contact information
- Course details: title, time, venue, organizer (copy of the program)
- Detailed cost assessment: participation fee, travel and accommodation costs
- Relevance to applicant's doctoral studies
- If the course is held abroad, supervisor's written statement confirming the relevance of the course

The grants are available for all DPPH students and are awarded for courses and seminars arranged in Finland and abroad. Grants can not be used for attending conferences. Courses with a fee or held abroad may be paid for if it can be shown that the necessary training appropriate for the student is not available on the university syllabus in Finland. The grants can cover travel, accommodation and course fees.

Seminars and courses must be contribute to the education of the doctoral student. Travel attending DPPH courses is especially eligible for funding. DPPH does not provide grants for congress participation.

DPPH is not able to pay per diem allowance for courses or seminars.

The maximum grant per DPPH student is 800 Euros per year.

Visiting grants

Visiting grants now available twice a year, in February and August!

In the Autumn 2012 the following visiting grants was awarded to:
Leonie-Helen Bogl to visit university of Ottawa, Canada, 2 weeks in December 2012 and to
Inna Lisko to visit VU University Amsterdam for three weeks in November 2012.

In the spring 2012 DPPH jory awarded the visiting grant to
Neill Booth to visit The Health Economics Group at the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry (PCMD) at the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth, Exeter, UK, Travellog

In the Autumn 2011 the following visiting grants was awarded:

Sie Sie Siew to visit University of Oxford ja University of Southampton
Heta Moustgaard to visit London School of Economics and University of Bristol

In fall 2009 board meeting the visiting grant was given to Anastasiya Verho. She visited the University of Oxford, travelog

Kobra Falah-Hassani visited Indiana University, USA in the spring 2009.
