Finnish universities provide the following degrees in higher education:
- lower university degrees (first cycle) known as Bachelor's, in Finnish kandidaatti
- higher university degrees (second cycle) known as Master's, in Finnish maisteri
- scientific and artistic postgraduate degrees (third cycle) known as Licentiate's, in Finnish lisensiaatti, and Doctor's, in Finnish tohtori.
