About the key units of the University of Tampere

At the beginning of 2011 the University of Tampere conducted a thorough overhaul of its organization. The former faculties and departments were rearranged into what is referred to as a schools model. Institute of Biomedical Technology (IBT) is one of these schools.

Each school has a board with members both inside and outside the university. Of the members inside the university community three are professors, three are from the teaching and other personnel, and three are representatives of the students.  Each board can invite 1-3 members outside the university.
