
| All graduate students currently carrying out their graduate studiesor planning to start work towards their PhD or MD/PhD degree in research groups associated with the Tampere Graduate Program in Biotechnology and Biomedicine can apply for registration to TGPBB.
In order to register the student must fill in the application and registration form and send it together with the required appendices to the Coordinator of TGPBB (Henna Mattila, henna.mattila(at)uta.fi) both in electronic and printed form. A supervision agreement signed by the supervisor must also be provided. In addition, all new students need to register immediately as a doctoral student at the University of Tampere. All registered TGPBB students must also follow the general regulations for all graduate students at UTA and at their School.

Commitments Registration and PhD graduation with a diploma from TGPBB requires commitment by the student to the policies of TGPBB. Compared to the "traditional" PhD-training TGPBB emphasizes the importance of regular follow up of progress, an active role of the Thesis Committee, and a curriculum for the theoretical studies required for PhD degree. The school also encourages collaboration between other Finnish and international research groups and promotes professional attitude towards research.
