The research interest of the molecular immunology group is focused on the molecular mechanisms of cytokine actions. Cytokine stimulation results in activation of one or more receptor associated cytoplasmic tyrosine kinases of the Jak family, which serve as critical triggering kinases for several downstream signaling pathways including the cytoplasmic transcription factors STATs.
