Any applicant who fulfils the basic entry requirements may apply to the ISSS programmes and courses. The admission is based on the educational background and on firm knowledge of English. For the Bachelor level programmes the completion of secondary education is required. For the Master level programmes the basic entry requirement is Bachelor´s degree or equivalent in the field of the desired major subject.

The admission to ISSS Master's programmes is through the centralised University Admissions service, at http://www.universityadmissions.fi/. Please note that there is not necessarily an intake to all programmes yearly, so check which programmes are available in the next application round before applying.

The application period for programmes starting in the academic year 2011-2012 is 1.12.2010 - 1.2.2011.

Students will be selected on the basis of their application documents - there is no entrance examination. The annual competition is high as the number of eligible applications exceeds the number of students that can be accepted. If you are accepted at the University of Tampere, a Letter of Acceptance will be sent to you in May 2011. Unsuccessful applicants will also receive notification.

If you plan to apply for a degree programme starting in 2011, you should take your language test as soon as possible if you do not have a valid score. Please, be prepared that it may take several weeks for the testing organisation to publish the results. The score must reach University Admissions Finland during the application round 1.12.2010-1.2.2011.
