Orientation course

The International Office organizes an orientation course for new international students twice every year. The course introduces the students to the University and Tampere. The ISSS degree programmes in English have their own orientations, of which the programme students will be informed.

Personal study plan (HOPS)

During their first year of study, students write a personal study plan, which confirms the structure of the degree and combination of subjects the student will study. The student will be given guidance in writing the personal study plan by the major subject department and the Faculty (international degree students should turn to the ISSS). The HOPS is part of the orientation course credits, which will be registered after the student's HOPS has been accepted.
